Heatmap Tracker loads your website into a frame and then overlays the actions taken by your visitor during his session.
To actually record the actions of your
visitors (like a video) and stream that data into a database would require very
intensive server, storage and bandwidth specs, (both on the server hosting the website being tracked and the server(s) on which your Heatmap Tracker instance resides), not to mention very highly
customised code (practically on a per server basis) in order to be able to do this.
Thus, like any other tracking script of this nature, we opt for the least intensive and most compatible alternative which is to use javascript to track your visitors' actions and movements only, and then overlay those behaviours onto your live website and display them as a "playback".
